This is particularly useful because the Visual Studio/Expression designers can be rather heavy when it comes to rendering the output and the project structure. The Xamarin.Forms Previewer is a relatively new addition to Xamarin's toolset that allows you to get immediate visual feedback about the changes you're making to your Xaml without the need to recompile and run your code. If it still does not work when you create a new project, you could right click the content page, select the View Designer.It was able to open the previewer. You don't need to build, compile, and deploy your app to see the UI output.
